Are you looking for a new challenge? Our Digital Employee Experience team is looking for a Behavioral Science Specialist!
What will your typical day look like?
In FY20, the Chief People and Culture Office (CCPO) developed a Culture and People Strategy for 2023 – a roadmap that will guide enablement of the broader firm Category of One strategy by inspiring and empowering our people and delivering “I only could have done it at Deloitte” experiences. The Digital Employee Experience team supports the firm’s ambition to innovate towards a technology-enabled future. This team will advance the use of key enablers (e.g., machine-based capabilities, data-driven decision-making, automation, integrated tools) and evolve digital practices to support CPO strategy and experience through the augmentation of human skillsets with digital capabilities and solutions. Through the digitization of practices, and standardization of approach to reporting and analytics performed by the team, the Culture and People Office team will accelerate in digital maturity and improve in speed and quality of decision-making. We are looking for an individual that is technical, creative, curious, a self-starter, thrives in ambiguity and is passionate about uncovering insights. The ideal candidate is very comfortable working with large sets of data to discover trends and formulate insights using various people data sources, as well as creating recommendations using internal and external market data. This individual will work closely with other CCPO team members, other enabling areas (e.g., ITS, Finance, etc.) and our business partners on a regular basis.
The Behavioural Science specialist is accountable to:
- Apply concepts from behavioural science to the design of digital programs, processes, etc. and continually seeking opportunities to drive additional research and analysis to inform the digital people experience
- Collect, analyze and synthesize research from a variety of sources (e.g. survey responses, benchmark studies, digital ethnography, online experiments, such as A/B testing, etc.)
- Apply an understanding of psychological factors (e.g. cognitive biases) to fully understand the implications of research outputs and make recommendations for elevating our internal end user experience
- Understand complex technical, business, and strategic requirements and incorporate into research and project delivery across digital and analytics programs
- Apply behavioural science to project delivery, including statistical testing, data modeling and the project lifecycle (e.g. requirements gathering, project scope, execution, delivery and ongoing project support)
- Articulate research findings into clear, concise and persuasive written and oral presentations for a diverse group of stakeholders
- Support workshop planning, material development and execution, leveraging principles of human-centered design to collect insights, ideas and recommendations
- Leverage behavioral insights to provide recommendations on how to use nudges to support new ways of working, drive organizational change and maximize the impact of projects
- Provide advisory and project execution support to system enhancements and implementations
- Support project management activities, including project scoping, cost estimation, team and effort duration, as well as ongoing project management activities

Enough about us, let’s talk about you
You are someone who has expertise in the following areas:
- Bachelors/Masters degree in behavioural science, experimental psychology, marketing, consumer behaviour or other social science disciplines
- Proven experience conducting independent behavioral science research
- Strong background in study/survey design and quantitative research methods
- Proficiency in data analysis with SPSS, R, Python and Excel
- Experience translating research findings into actionable insights and directional principles; strong writing and editing skills
- Applicants with strong interest or skills in digital and/or analytics will be prioritized
- Working in a complex and ambiguous environment to problem solve and determine the appropriate behavioural approaches and application of statistical methods to support project outcomes
- Knowledge and understanding of personas and their use in research and evaluation
- Prior experience conducting research in a client service environment preferred
- Prior experience in the planning, design and execution of cross-functional workshops
- Prior experience leveraging behavioral science to drive organizational change
- Experience and passion working in a collaborate team environment
