We’re looking for versatile people with a knack for customer service to handle bookings for our outdoor municipal facilities. You’ve got the unique ability to be friendly, courteous, and empathetic while staying organized, detail-orientated and accurate. You’ve got multi-tasking down to a science, can deftly oversee every step of a process, and enjoy being part of a dynamic team. This’ll be especially important as you’ll be connecting frequently with the public, answering questions about facilities, assisting them with bookings, and performing the administrative and clerical tasks to get it all done. You will perform related work as required.
Qualifications include completion of Grade 12 including or supplemented by commercial and typing courses plus sound related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, customer service experience, a keen attention to detail, and an ability to deal with conflict resolution and problem-solving. You have sound knowledge of modern office practices, including the clerical processes associated with your work, and of business English, proper grammar, and basic math. In this role, you’ll need to know the various amenities and services of a variety of municipal facilities, understand the needs of various community groups and sports clubs and assign them the proper facilities to use. You’ll also need to work quickly and efficiently, juggling various tasks such as clerical and record keeping, processing inquiries and complaints, and making independent decisions in accordance with applicable rules, regulations and policies.
