C|PRIME Modern Italian Steak & Wine, located in the Century Plaza Hotel in beautiful downtown Vancouver, is currently seeking an Executive Chef to start immediately.
C|PRIME is the latest culinary endeavour by Century Plaza Hotel. Located in the iconic Century Plaza Hotel, C|PRIME is a modern and sophisticated approach to authentic Italian cuisine. C|PRIME delivers incredible food and a fashionable atmosphere, all while taking guests on a bold flavour journey through upscale Italy, while incorporating hints of New York City.
Reflected in its sumptuous menu offerings, C|PRIME uses the finest cuts of local meats, seafood, vegetables and cheeses paired with innovative, rich sauces and salts unlike anything Vancouver diners have tasted in the city. Reflected in its carefully crafted menu, C|PRIME puts a premium on locally sourced and curated ingredients. Using the finest cuts of BC-raised meats, fresh seafood, vegetables and cheeses paired with innovative, rich sauces and salts, the restaurant offers incomparable dishes that showcase both Italian and New York inspired flavours.
In addition to its lovingly crafted dishes, C|PRIME also boasts an award winning wine program.
-Supervise kitchen operations including staff, food preparation and cooking, ensuring food safe practices are enforced and financial targets are met;
-Develop, implement and monitor standards of service to ensure that a high quality of production and service is consistently maintained, leading to overall guest satisfaction and retention;
-Mentor and develop cooks, setting short and long term goals, encouraging staff to excel in the company and the industry;
-Conduct ongoing research of trends in the food industry, to ensure the creative and effective planning and writing of menus;
-Other responsibilities include budgeting and financial planning for labor and food cost, recruitment of staff, providing instruction and training to staff and chefs, and participating in business development.
-5 years minimum experience in a similar position and environment;
-Must possess high knowledge and skill of preparing authentic Italian cuisine and steak;
-Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and internet searches;
-Must have a passion for the business and a love of food;
-Excellent leadership and motivational skills;
-Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution dexterity;
-Ability to prioritize, organize and follow through as necessary;
-A clear thinker with the aptitude to analyze and resolve problems, exercising good judgment;
-Capacity to work well under pressure, meeting production schedules and timelines for service periods;
-Ability to hold oneself and others accountable;
-Must be legally entitled to work in Canada;
-Ability to communicate in English.
-Foodsafe certified (within 1 week of employment);
-Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship, Red Seal and journeyman certificate.
