About Us:
Gentleman Jack’s Barbershop is a new multi-location upscale barbershop. Our goal is to create a “modern contemporary” barbershop experience for discerning clients, with new locations opening in Nov and Dec 2020

Location of Work:
104-3246 Connaught Crescent, North Vancouver, BC, V7R 0A7 (Edgemont Village)

Employment Conditions: Mornings, Days, Evenings, Weekends

Employee Benefits: Commission on product sales, services plus gratuities

Education: Barber trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Standing for extended periods

Barber Specific Skills:
Cut and trim hair according to client’s instructions or preferences, Shave and trim beards and mustaches, Shampoo customers’ hair, provide other hair treatments and scalp conditioning massages

Hair Colouring Techniques: Dyes/tints, Streaking/highlights

Work Setting: Barbershop or Hairstyling salon/studio

Hairstylist Specific Skills:
Apply tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair, Analyze hair and scalp condition and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair, Suggest hair style compatible with client’s physical features or determine style from client’s instructions and preferences, Cut, trim, taper, wave, and style hair.

Optional Skills (Not Required):
Experience with doing “Mens Facials”
Able to communicate in other languages; French, Mandarin, Cantonese, Persian (Farsi), etc.

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.):
Barbering Trade Certification, Hairstylist Trade Certification
