Help make a difference for Canadians. CMHC’s aspiration is that by 2030, everyone in Canada has a home that they can afford and that meets their needs. All of our programs and activities support this singular goal.
Committed to dismantling systems of oppression, anti-Black and anti-Indigenous racism, and racism more broadly, we are firm on deepening our work in the area of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). It is within this spirit that we invites applications and nominations for our first-ever Chief Equity Officer (CEqO), a role that will give a passionate leader the opportunity to weave EDI throughout the very fabric and strategy of the organization—work that will further enhance the employee experience while bettering the lives of Canadians.
Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, Policy and Innovation, and as a member of the Sector Management Team, the CEqO will help to set strategic direction for the sector, and establish plans, priorities, and objectives as it relates to CMHC’s equity and anti-racism commitments. The incumbent will also help to shape an overarching vision and strategy for equity at CMHC, embedding an equity presence in all that the company does.
The new CEqO will have a deep and abiding commitment to tackling systemic issues affecting historically marginalized employees, as well as the communities served by our institution; promotes a culture of respect, equity, and fairness; and, delivers positive outcomes that permeate the organization. We are reputed for being able to understand, appreciate, and interact with a wide range of audiences, and we develop and present information compellingly in an effort to bring people along.
The incumbent will possess a university degree or college diploma in a related discipline (e.g. equity studies, social justice, sociology, public administration, law, etc.), or a combination of education, training, and experience, and is able to communicate in both of Canada’s official languages.
CMHC is partnering with BIPOC Executive Search to ensure an applicant list that includes Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour, thereby reflecting Canada’s diverse population.
Interested applicants must send their resume to Helen Mekonen or Jason Murray by e-mailing email@example.com.
CMHC values diverse backgrounds and experience and welcomes non-Canadians who are eligible to work in Canada to apply!
We sincerely thank all candidates for their interest, however, please note that only applicants selected for further consideration will be contacted. If selected for an interview or testing, please advise us if you require an accommodation.
