Long Haul Truck Drivers required (Full Time, 40 hours per week)
NOC (2006): 7411; (2011):7511
Vacancies: 3 positions available
Wage: $25.50-27.50 per hour
Term of Employment: Full Time – Temporary
Start date: As soon as possible
Location of work: Various locations
Job requirements
• Languages: English
• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Experience: No experience necessary, but an asset
• Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
Specific Skills
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance
• Perform brake adjustments
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
