Through year-round compelling marketing Nelson Kootenay Lake Tourism Society promotes the region’s unique cultural qualities (outdoors, sports, dining, shopping, arts, health and wellness, heritage) to potential visitors, ultimately increasing the number of visitations and length of stays.
The Marketing Liaison position will work closely with the team at Nelson and Kootenay Lake Tourism (NKLT) to support the needs of its stakeholders, visitors and market the region.
Creative direction, design and production of ads for all mediums. Work with other designers when required. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
Update website content using Drupal CMS, oversee required changes, work with web development company
AMP story creation, Crowdriff management
Review and analyze Google Analytics
Manage Timely Calendar content
Manage microsites in WordPress
Create calendar, write posts and manage engagement on Twitter, FB, IG, Pinterest and Youtube, source images from Crowdriff, develop creative campaigns, review analytics Photography/Videography
Take photos across the region
Work with videographers and photographers for required photo shoots
Create gifs and short videos for ads on various mediums
Manage the photo library
Communications / Media Relations
Communicate with stakeholders – tourism businesses and organizations through various mediums
Host media, plan itineraries, book activities and accommodation, filter Influencers, track outputs, evaluate ROI
General office upkeep, answer stakeholder and visitor questions online and via phone, travel book and map distribution, mailouts, IT solutions, proof projects, manage member list, assist at meetings, manage phone services, manage archives of videos and files, use Project Management tools such as Asana and Monday
College Diploma or University Degree (or equivalent)
Apple Product Applications
Trained in Graphic Design
Photography or Videography skills
Website content creation and management
WordPress and Drupal knowledge
Google docs and Dropbox management
Social Media posting and content management
Personable and strong customer service skills

Organize: Set priorities, develop a work schedule, use OfficeTime, monitor progress towards goals, and track details/data/information/activities.
Plan: Determine strategies to create and implement action plans and evaluate the process and results.
Solve Problems: Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.
Minimum 2 year’s marketing related experience
Community development work experience – volunteer or professional
