Based in Vancouver, Catriona Jeffries is one of Canada’s pre-eminent spaces for contemporary art and is recognized internationally for its ongoing, rigorous contribution to contemporary art discourse. Established in 1994, the gallery represents artists of international prominence whose practices have emerged out of the renowned conceptual art histories of Vancouver. By maintaining dialogues with artists, writers, curators, museums and private collections, Catriona Jeffries continues to curate projects that contextualize the work of gallery artists within an historical trajectory, as well as with those of other artists working internationally through an expanded practice of exhibition making and research. Catriona Jeffries has a respected reputation in representing its artists in prominent private and museum collections, both in Canada and internationally.
Catriona Jeffries invites applications for the gallery position of Administration and Research. Working closely with the Directors, the Administration and Research position’s primary responsibility is the multi-faceted administration and research of diverse areas of the gallery’s practice. This is a central position within the gallery team.
Administration and Research is responsible for direct, in-person and written communication with the gallery’s local, national and international community. The administration and office management responsibilities include maintaining a complex contact database, coordinating organizational calendars, multiple agendas and generating and processing a variety of time sensitive forms, documents and applications. Alongside the Directors, the position is also responsible for generative and responsive research summaries through a detailed and inquisitive process on an ongoing basis. Administration and Research is an expansive, ambitious and dynamic position that allows considerable room for growth.
Applicants should have at minimum an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Organizational skills and attention to detail are the foundation of this role. Interpersonal and writing skills are imperative. Experience in a Mac OS environment, a deep working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and experience with and a strong understanding of database management essentials is key. An interest and ability in learning new digital organizational systems is also required.

This is a four-day work week salaried position. Salary commensurate with experience, with a minimum starting salary of $38,000 annually including a six week vacation period.
